Spenco orthoticHaving worn custom orthotics, I was interested in trying the Spenco orthotic because it had a rigid base and was adjustable. The instructions for adjustment were very sparse, stating to place them in boiling water for 2 minutes and to then adjust as desired. This did not work for me, as I would have hoped that the plastic base would have been more malleable, and it was difficult to hold in position while waiting for it to cool. Customer service said to place it in a shallow pan of boiling water, turn the heat off and wait for 2 minutes and then adjust. This did not work for me either. Finally, I placed the orthotic in my bench vise to hold it in the adjustment that I wanted and used a heat gun to heat the plastic bottom of the orthotic. After leaving it in the vise for a few minutes to cool, it held the shape the I desired and they are very satisfactory to me.I love the WARRANTY--one year UNCONDITIONAL warranty--if they do not help you or you are dissatisfied, return them to the manufacturer for a full refund--now that is confidence in their product! The orthotics seem of good quality and their adjustability is a big selling point for me, though it is a little bit of a hassle to do the adjustment. If there is another brand that is adjustable, I would like to know it. I am considering buying a couple of more of these orthotics to have for each pair of shoes. 4Too tall. Cannot return! So I have *really* high arches. I need arch supports to keep my arches from painfully falling. But, this combination of essentially having 'tall' feet and also needing orthopedics means that the total height of stuff I'm shoving into my shoes doesn't always work out. I bought these because they looked 'thin': that is, not much height beside providing an arch support. But sadly these just don't work out: I can't fit these arch supports + my feet into shoes, the combined height is just too much. And even though these are a Prime item, I can't return them. At $22 that's a frustrating chunk of money wasted on a product that doesn't work for me. If shoe height is a problem for you, don't buy these. If you're unsure if these will work for you, don't buy them because you can't return them. 1comfortable orthotic supportThis is an OUTSTANDING VALUE and effective, comfortable orthotic support. It is my hands down favorite of the 4 kinds I have tried in my month long search. That begins with a $200 kind I bought on a cruise, the renowned Dr. brand at a discount superstore that was $46, a super hard, moldable support for about $85 and then the Spenco bargain. I am truly delighted with it, especially if it is durable for the long term.I heated it in boiling water a few minutes and molded it to the shape of my foot, holding it to conform to the sole of my foot for a couple of minutes. I had hiking socks on and leather gloves to protect my feet and hands from the hot arch support coming out of the boiling water. The the results are SHEER COMFORT and stabilizing support equal to the $200 cruise set! The hard $85 moldable ones conformed to my foot well but feel like I am standing on a hard rock. Unacceptable! Also, these work very well with my sandals. A trick to hold them is place is at the heel and toward the toe, affix the velcro adhesive ovals you can get at a department store to the sole of your shoe (after taking the insole liner out), put in the Spenco 3/4 arch support, then the insole that came with the shoe and you have sheer comfort. Because my feet are right at a size 12, I bought some size 13 tennis shoes and my toes have never known sucy uncramped comfort as well.I am lucky and do not have any foot problems (flat feet, pronation issues, plantar fasciatis, etc). I was simply looking for comforting support and the Spenco is every bit the comfort of the expensive cruise purchase at 1/8 the price! I am greatly please and gratified. My only question will be how durable they are and how long they will hold their shape. Do spread the word on how the velcro adhesive ovals hold them in place.Enjoy the bargain. The are hard to find these days!I have not received, nor have I sought any financial benefits from the company. This is entirely my own, unsolcited evaluation. 5Pretty serious arch support that helped with leg and back painI was skeptical, but decided to try a really radical and seemingly pricey option. I have to say I am blown away at how it seems to have fixed foot, leg, and back pain I was having. Some older, less-supportive insoles weren't really doing much - apparently. Within 1-2 days of using these guys and I was much more comfortable overall. I even used these when I had to spend 10 hours a day standing at a tradeshow, and I was much more comfortable than predicted. The arch is really strong, in fact I can feel it pushing on my foot inside my shoe when not standing. But this is a testament to how much arch support can help with posture and pain.I move these between 2 pairs of dress shoes, and probably will just buy a second set! 5Best arch support shoe inserts on the market!I absolutely have to have these in every pair of shoes I own, or my Plantar Fasciitis returns. These Spenco Rx Orthotic Arch Support 3/4 Length Shoe Inserts were prescribed by my podiatrist when I was being treated for Plantar Fasciitis back in the late 1990's. Since that time, I have worn them in all of my shoes, always getting at least a year of life out of them with everyday use. I have tried going without them, but every time I have gone without them in my shoes, the Plantar Fasciitis returns with a vengeance. I have tried similar looking mass marketed arch support shoe inserts made by a "doctor", but they did not provide the same relief, nor did they last more than a few months. I use these Spencos as they are right out of the package, but the arch can actually be adjusted by heating them in hot water and bending the arch to the desired shape depending on how much arch your feet have. These are the best arch supports on the market, in my opinion. 5Before you pay hundreds of dollars at good feet store try these! So I took my young son to the good Feet store.... $700 later he has orthotics that are not a lot different than these. I bought these for myself and all my foot, leg and lower back pain has gone away. This is about my fourth set ....put them in all of my different shoes from tennis shoes to boots and they work amazingly well. Try these before you go spend hundreds or even $1000 with an orthopedic surgeon or someone else. I will say that these are only three-quarter length and I still put a padded insert over the top of these. Some people might find that to be too tight especially if you have a larger, fatter foot. But these work great for me... 5So far so good. I have symptoms that are evident of Plantar ...So far so good. I have symptoms that are evident of Plantar Fasciitis and have been looking for orthotics to alleviate the pain, etc. Have had these for about a week now. Been rotating them through whichever shoes I'm wearing. I had no idea the incredible difference they could make. It's nice that they are not a full orthotic so they take up less room in my shoes/boots. 5Best out thereHave had fallen arches for round 25 years...get real painful with every step. These are the only insert I have found that actually prop up the arch so that pain goes away. They last forever cause as the arch support goes down gradually over time, you just boil it, bend it back to shape. I myself, bend the support to give it the biggest curve I can and let it conform to my arch after that.....works like a charm. These aren't those over priced junk supports that do not work. They can move around in your shoes/boots some till your body weight creates an indent in shoe that the support will ride in....give it some time folks and the support moving around in your shoes will go away.. 5Flat Feet ReliefMy podiatrist has done a planter facia tendon relief on both of my feet, and my hereditary flat feet are even flatter. He highly recommended the spendco brand , and the amazon price cannot be beat. They are preformed in a dense plastic composite that has a minimal amount of flexnot to rigidnot to floppyIt has enough give and take to provide a comfy walk , to the point of a 6 mile walk is no big dealI have worn this in my brooks running shoes&I have worn this in my Sketchers Dress Shoes with Zero Issues.Note( I am 5'8 . 275 if your wondering how durable they are ) 5No more pain! These $20-ish insoles have changed my life! After 2 years of increasing pain from plantar faciitis, I replaced my standard Doctor Scholls inserts with these. The arch support is better than I've found in any other insole, and I like that you can boil the insoles for 2 minutes and bend them to customize the shape to your foot. Within 2 weeks of wearing these, my pain was only about 25% of what it had been. A month in, and I'm NEARLY pain free! Thanks so much. I'll be buying more of these so I don't have to swap them between pairs of shoes. 5
