Good product but could be betterThese do provide more coverage than regular urinary incontinence pads. However, the panty is not waterproof. I have stress incontinence, along with urgency. So when I feel like I have to go, it's urgent. Standing causes stress on the bladder. Too much information, yes! But you need to know this because when that happens, the pad inside the panty doesn't always catch everything. The panty needs to have a waterproof lining, which they don't. Or the pad needs to be wider at the front and back to catch occasional overflow. 4Super comfortable and well fitting!I bought these online when my grandfather was having a hard time finding these in his size. He will not stop raving about how comfortable they are and how well they fit. I honestly had no idea someone could be so thrilled about an incontinance product so I wanted to come review it on his behalf. 5Most Disappointing Product I Have Purchased from Amazon. If I could register my comment without a star included, I would. There are two very basic flaws for our use with my husband. He is a large man, girth wise, so we ordered the 2X which corresponds with his waist measurement. To make the leg openings large, material has obviously been removed from the crotch area, making it too narrow for adequate coverage. And then there's the almost absent padding. Even adding a supplemental pad did not accomplish containment...resulted in a thoroughly soaked bed (my husband is bed bound.) Will never order this brand again and advise others to try it before you buy a large quantity...am surely glad I did!! 1Proceed with CauationI have been using these for several years and never had a complaint. But the product has changed and the fabric is thinner and if you don't be careful when pulling them up your fingers will poke through the material......this can also happen if you are being careful. I would wear a pair a day but now they are in shreds before the day is over. I am in the process of looking for another product. Why don't manufactures leave well enough alone. I was a happy consumer and now can't wait to get your product out of my life. 1Best fit so far for Plus sizeI have tried all sorts of pads even to a point of putting 4 or 5 in my underwear at the same time and they all leaked so bad I had to change clothes 5-8 times a day. Being a plus size makes it hard to find diapers or incontinent briefs. The main issue is folds of skin push out in unique ways based on your body and no one else's. So finding anything that will form fit has been impossible. The form fit is CRUCIAL since water follows the creases in your skin when you are overweight and comes out in areas that can not always be predicted. So in the past, I have 4-5 pads but still get my panties and the floor wet since I do not have full coverage.Prevail 2X LG not only is big enough to fit me (I wear 4x-5x pants) but the elastic form fits better than my panties and protects from leaks better. I do add extra pads to the Prevail because they are cheaper to change than the Prevails and make them last a bit longer.I wish they had a wider spread in the crotch area and were higher waisted; They tend to be a bit short in the back. I turn them around sometimes and add pads based on my activities. They do not prevent all leaking such as a baby's diaper can. But I no longer have to wash 3-4 towels and 4-5 underwear every day. If I am careful, I change a couple of pads to wear them longer and throw them away when I need to.The elastic stretches out after taking them on and off 4-6 times depending on how much you pull on them and the paper is fragile so you have to be careful not to pull too much or you will put your fingers through it. The best way to take them down if you plan to pull them back up is slide them and just let them fall - it saves the elastic. They are the best I have found for the price. 5Amazon brand betterThe PREVAIL BRAND IS NOT NEARLY AS NICE AS THE AMAZON BRAND I HAVE BEEN USING. THEY DO NOT FIT AS WELL, AND ARE HARD TO REMOVE FROM THE PACKAGE. THEY APPEAR TO BE MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY AS AMAZON BRAND, BUT MUCH CHEAPER COPY. ALSO, THEY ARE SEVERAL DOLLARS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN AMAZON. 1UNDERWEAR SIDE GIVES WAY WITHOUT USE OR WITH VERY LITTLE USEI had been using these VERY SUCCESSFULLY for over a year, but the last time I ordered a 4 pack of 48 I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. The side tabs would break open mostly on the left hand side but sometimes on the right either when putting them on or after trying to pull them up during the day or night. I examined the sides and found that they seemed to have little holes where the sides were crimped together. The crimping did not go all the way to the end of the side. I lost about 20 of the 48 pull-ups either immediately or after only an hour of two of wearing. This made me look for another provider, which I found, and their product stayed together throughout the night and day. Your product WAS more comfortable but too costly - unless you fix the machine crimping problem 2Underwear fits great and is very strong but will sag down with fluid in the pad away from your bodyThe fit was great and the material that made up the underwear part was not flimsy at all. BUT I did not like how the pad in them absorbed the moisture. You really have to pay attention to how much fluid comes in contact with the pad because the pad can become "heavy" with the fluid and the underwear will not support the pad (close to your body at that point) and because of whatever is inside the pad to absorb the fluid also doesn't help with the weight of the pad when fluid is absorbed. So will not and cannot recommend this product to anybody. I am not a fan of the product myself after using it. 1Excellent for hospital stayI recently had surgery and during my stay at the hospital, the nurses had me try these pull-ups (this brand), size XL. They were comfortable... light, and loose and stretchable at the waist and leg openings. They kept me dry and were easy to put on and take off. Temporarily, I have to use a grabber for putting on underwear and pants. I found these easy to slip on. I love them so much that I am not sure if I ll ever wear regular underwear again. Hint: If you are a back sleeper, make sure that the pull ups are flat in the back (no wrinkles)and your clothing is also flat before going to bed; if they bunch up, those spots will hurt. 5The Prevail pull-ups strike a good balance of absorbency and relaxed fit.As a caregiver, I have bought several different brands of adult pull-ups and have noticed that even though the design of adult diapers is similar across brands (i.e., they are disposable underwear with absorbent padding in the crotch), beyond this basic design, there are variations in form and fit between brands such as waist softness/flexibility, pad thickness, leg hole size, etc. IN MY OPINION, if I had to scale the major brands I have bought (i.e., Depend, Tranquility, Prevail, Tena, and Surecare), I would place Depend on one end of the scale followed by Tena and Prevail in the middle, and finally Surecare on the other end. I always buy the most absorbent pad design of each brand. The Depend pull-ups are somewhat snug fitting and appear to be designed to function more like padded underwear than a diaper. They are good for active individuals but may not be as comfortable around large waists. Tena underwear is similar to Depend in snugness and fit. The Prevail pull-ups are more flexible with a softer, more relaxed fit around the waist and a somewhat thicker pad than the Depend brand. Both the Prevail and the Depend seem to be fairly absorbent, so pad thickness may only be an issue in fit rather than absorbency. The Surecare pull-up has the softest, most loose fitting waist of the these brands but has a thinner pad than the prevail. They seem to hold less liquid than the Prevail but are probably the most comfortable in terms of softness and waist flexibility. Of course the compromise is that the loose waist can ride down if the individual is very active. I didn't include Tranquility underwear on my scale because they are advertised as an overnight solution. The Tranquility pull-ups have a flexible waist with medium stiffness and a large pad. The large pad may limit their comfort during daytime activities. I notice some Tranquility reviewers have complained about leakage, but I have never had one leak.In conclusion, I really like the performance of the Prevail underwear. It strikes a good balance of absorbency and relaxed fit so five stars. Of course, I would suggest you try products from several different manufacturers to find the most comfortable choice for your application.UPDATE (July 3, 2014):I just wanted to update my reviews since I have tried the Attends Super Plus pull-ups. I really like the Attends. They are about the same price as the Prevails, but have a somewhat stiffer, tighter waistband and a slightly wider pad than the Prevails. In fact, coverage and absorption seem to be slightly better than the Prevails during extended wear. The Prevails are still my "go to" solution, but the Attends nicely fill the niche between the Prevail fit and the Depends/Tena fit. Anyway, IN MY OPINION, this is how I would rank the adult pull-ups that I have bought.Stiffest waist band, tightest fit, most like underwear, good for active daily use.1. Depends2. Tena3. Attends4. Prevail5. SurecareLoosest, most flexible waist band, relaxed fit, good for large waists and limited movement. 5
