This is organic cocoa butter (pressed from USDA Certified Organic Cacao) which has been expeller pressed from Belizean cacao. The cacao is roasted over an open flame to a target temperature of 275F. This is lower than industry standard and retains more of the vitality and flavor of the cacao. There is an abundance of tropical fruit fragrance and flavor in this cocoa butter. It is food grade, and is perfect for those interested in making chocolate at home. It is incredibly smooth and perfect also for skin care including lip balms. Ths cocoa butter may arrive partially melted due to hot summer or springtime temps. This does not damage or affect the quality in the least. The cocoa butter may arrive in small or large square portions depending upon the form used to shape the product. The cocoa butter is never filtered - it is allowed to settle in a large warmer which may allow the intrusion of the occassional speck or two of organic cacao solids into the clear cocoa butter. Safe to store at room temperature - no refrigeration needed.
