Incredible natural healingI have suffered from blisters on my lips from the sun for years. My lips are constantly sensitive and often have open blisters. The only doctor prescribed ointment was a steroid that I did not want to use. I am so thankful a friend told me about Wound Honey. I put this on at night and the next morning the swelling of my lips was gone and the blisters had formed a scab, one day later it was all healed up. This is the first product that has worked for me. My son gets cold sores and this is a natural way to give him relief as well. This tube lasts so long even with everyday use. What an effective and quality product. 5Sticky but works!I bought this to add as an ingredient to my body butter, for the skin healing properties of honey. However, bc of the thick and sticky consistancy of the ointment, I have to squeeze a little in the palm of my hand and really warm it up to apply it. Besides that, I really do like the product. The break out on my back, has almost disappeared. The smell is a little funky. It has an earthy/honey smell, but it's not over powering. 5I Have a tube of Wound Honey in the house at all times.I keep 2 tubes of the Wound Honey in my home at all times. I have many arthritis's and because of heredity and arthritis medications over the years I have very thin skin and tear easily. I have had some nasty wounds on my legs and arms from hitting them and the skin ripping open. The first time I had a nasty wound I did not want to go to the doctor but was afraid I would get an infection so I searched the web and read about Manukan Honey' . I ordered it and put it on a open wound and covered it and could not believe what it all pulled out and how it started to heal the wound. I use to work with wounds years ago so I knew the routine but this was so simple. I changed my sterile bandage everyday and applied a thin layer of the honey. All I have to say is I was amazed. Everything that I have used it on has healed. I had a bee sting 3 weeks ago and for the heck of it put some on the sting with a band aid. Usually I blow up around the sting and it gets red and hot. This time it only swelled a little, took the sting feeling out of it and it was gone in 6 days. I could not believe it. So I an a big believer in the Manukan Honey. My mother had a sore on her arm that would not heal even with a prescription and I put this on her and the spot got smaller and it is gone. She also has this in the house all the time and she uses it on my dad and her if they cut themselves. The are amazed at how something so simple can work so well. I will be ordering more when I get low. 5Think Yet StrongMy 12 year old son had an incident with his eyeglasses, which caused a long, yet wide, 1.25-inch scrape between his eyebrows up towards his forehead. After three days of Mupirocin not aiding with size or infection, we changed to three days of Neosporin Triple Antibiotic Maximum Strength which did aid with clearing the infection, but not the size. So, for two days, I applied a mix of olive oil and ginger root powder form that slowly helped with the red appearance, but not with the size.I really wanted to find a natural alternative that was a ready-made ointment. So, we purchased Medihoney which really started drawing out fluid, but it did not draw the wound together or shorten the length in a week of use. Now, we have used Natural Sciences' Wound Honey for one full day, which has already started drawing the wound together. However, I made the choice to apply the ointment once per hour because it is such an incredibly thin ointment. This was done for twelve hours, and the wound has began drawing together in width. Unfortunately, we have to use Medihoney, instead of Wound Honey, at night so that the wound stays moist. Indeed, it would be convenient to have the thickness of Medihoney with the same ingredients of Wound Honey. To note, it should be expected that with honey as the main ingredient in this ointment, one may feel sticky. 4Miracle for Diabetic Wounds, Stopped Amputation!Miracle for Diabetic Wounds, Stopped Amputation! Dissolved white macerated/dead skin. Cleared out yellow infection and promoted new growth of pink healthy skin. Neurosurgeon at the Wound Clinic said these type of deep wounds never heal and recommend amputation before the joint got infected. Under supervision of a different Dr. we tried WoundHoney at home. 2 months later the wounds are almost gone and amputation is no longer an option. We changed the dressings daily and used the CuraFoam foam dressing over WoundHoney wrapped in gauze. Life and limb saving product in our opinion. You only need a small amount for amazing results. 5Wound care at its BEST!I have a high level spinal cord injury, confined to a wheelchair, and occasionally experience wounds. Most recently a scrape on my ankle developed into a dime sized and several millimeter deep wound. Nothing I tried, including things that healed me in the past, seemed to work. I ultimately visited the Would Care Center at the local Hospital. That was a weekly and semi weekly visit for months. As many as five months. I did this on two separate occasions for the same wound. Their course of treatment was eventually what they call an Oasis, which is simply an ultra thin layer of pig skin, I believe from the intestinal tract. It looked like a small sheet of tissue paper. It eventually healed my wound, but within a couple weeks the wound resurfaced, I believe due to my skin actually rejecting this tissue. My Uncle has his own apiary and he suggested I try Manuka honey. I tried raw organic Manuaka, from New Zealand, which showed some promise, but eventually purchased the Dr. Nordyke's wound honey. Absolutely and unequivocally the best treatment available for wounds, in my opinion. I believe the added Aloe Vera works in concert with the Manuka to promote healing. I had used a product in the past that was mostly Aloe based and it was also a great wound healer, but this Wound Honey is simply amazing. The key, as with any wound is to maintain a moist wound bed. The old methods of using alcohol,Mercurochrome or Beta-dine to dry the wound is entirely wrong. Cell growth needs a damp environment which is conducive to growth and cellular division. Think about it. Almost all your blood cells are produced in your bone marrow.I am not a Doctor, but since my spinal cord injury in 1985, I have been through enough health related setbacks to have my junior medical degree and complete a residency or two. The best bandages, I found, for most occasions are simply the generic ones found at your local Target store. They are a latex sort that forms a tight bond to your skin and are somewhat elastic and can be stretched tightly (Monitor your skin closely for a latex induced rash. Sometimes the skin does not get along with latex). It's important that you change the bandage twice daily, once in the morning when you wake, and once at bedtime.Use saline to gently clean the wound. Also, I found that on relatively shallow wounds, while I was cleaning with the saline dampened cloth, I would apply a bit of pressure to the wound with the cloth and give it a little rotation clock wise and counter clock wise, with just enough force to cause the wound to bleed. Wipe the blood away and apply the wound honey and bandage. Always, Always, wash your hands before and after addressing your wound, and use clean washcloths to clean your wound.Place a dab of the wound honey within the wound itself, trying to not over lap the healthy skin, but a little will not hurt. If you notice the perimeter of the wound develops a sort of raised rim of skin, and it is white in color, this is called maceration. When I attended the wound center this macerated skin was always debrided by the Doctor using a scalpel. Careful bandaging and avoiding too much moisture will help prevent this from happening, as will changing your bandage twice daily. Once the wound is cleaned and filled with the wound honey, cover it with the bandage trying to position the wound in the center of the pad portion of the bandage. Keep in mind that if you put a big dab of the honey on the wound it will be forced out and over the edges of the wound by the pressure of the bandage. This is why you want to put just enough inside the wound to cover it but not a "your cup runneth over" amount. You will be amazed at the results in just a few short days.FOLLOW UP: I incurred a nasty gash on the skin covering the bone that protrudes from my ankle. I could not believe how much blood I lost, but I guess I have good circulation. Once I stopped the bleeding, I began using the Nordyke's honey with nothing more than a dressing consisting of a band-aid. Like the several times before, it did not let me down, and fully healed my wound. I use it now on most any cuts and scrapes. I thank my Uncle in part. He owns an Apiary, and suggested I try honey on the first wound that took months to get healed by a professional Wound Care Clinic, only to resurface a few weeks later. This honey did what took the Clinic many months to do, in 1/3 the time. 52 doctor visits, 1 round of antibiotics and wound honey was the answerI don't typically leave reviews, but this product warrants one. My son was running outside and kicked a large block of wood. He instantly had severe pain and swelling in his toe. We cleaned the wound but did not notice anything irregular. We finally took him to urgent care 4 days later for X-rays and the prognosis was an infection in the tendon. This began the 1st round of antibiotics. Seven days later the wound finally began to change a bit. We began some natural drawing soak which pull a bit more pus out. After 10 days of antibiotics, we took another trip to the doctor who opened the wound to check for foreign objects and do a culture for mrsa. We left with another antibiotic prescription. This did not set well with me so I began some research for natural treatments for mrsa. That lead me to mankua honey. While we waited for the honey to arrive, we treated it with a turmeric paste and grapefruit seed extract. This pulled more pus out and decreased the swelling. We began using the wound honey as soon as it arrived. After 2 days, 5 dressings of the wound honey, he pulled out a 1/2" splinter from his foot. He was instantly pain free and we all were releaved. This will be a permanent part of our med kit for now on! 5Simply AMAZING!!First let me start by saying I do not normally review products but in this instance I feel that it is completely necessary. I not only will use this I am telling everyone I know they need to equip their medicine cabinets!I purchased this product because my husband and I both have had problems with staph infections. I had one at the time and as soon as this product arrived I used it. I could tell a significant difference in one use! (I did not go to the doctor and was not on antibiotics. With this it wasn't necessary!)I also mixed a small amount with my facial moisturizer because I have mild acne and it was amazing to see how well it cleared it. I have extremely sensitive skin and this doesn't irritate me at all. We are using Manuka Honey and Propolis Soap - Set of Two along with this to help treat and prevent skin irritation. (The soap hasn't irritated my skin either.)I had read about the healing properties of manuka honey and wanted a medical grade product. This is exactly what I was looking for!! It is raw honey and aloe; totally natural with nothing weird added and not over processed. My husband has been using it on a heat rash and I see us using this for any and all skin problems in the future. We will definitely be keeping this in our medicine cabinet. We are both completely amazed at how well this product works.*Great for wounds *Great for sensitive skin *Awesome for acne *Doesn't irritate 5Oh how my hands hurtI bought this because I have hydro dermatitis on my hands where the skin sloughs off and then splits open. This is the only stuff OTC that relieved the pain and healed them up. I am not saying that it is a cure but it sure helped mine. Love it 5Fixed chronic staph issues & Great for burns.I have a poor immune response to staph due to an infection when I was born. One way it manifests itself is impetigo and blisters when sick/my immune system is compromised. I'm also prone to acne from the staph.I have used bactroban my whole life but the infections usually come back with a vengeance and even if they didn't from start to finish it will take a month for my face to look normal again with the scarring. At first sign I use this and generally nip the infection in the bud by day 3 of cleaning and reapplying the honey to it several times a day and at night while I sleep. I don't have any of the scarring I get from bactroban -- so no one asking me what's wrong with my face whenever I get sick!!!I now use it wherever I'd have used Neosporin or other antibiotic creme. I also use it on burns. In addition to being antibacterial honey is a humectant and helps keep the burn moisturized -- important for minimizing the burn damage and healing time (and prevent that horrible itch). Works particularly well when mixed with aloe (true aloe! not the fake bottles of filler from the drugstore)After success with this I began use it on my acne and it worked great! I was using it quickly so switched to a honey milk face soap and got a jar of manuka for face masks and tea. I still use wound honey for all wounds, infections, and burns. 5
