This sweet sorghum is harvested for its stalks, it is crushed like sugarcane or beets to produce a syrup. It's stalk is chewed by Northerners in Ghana as sugar cane especially rural dwellers. Apart from it's sweety juice property, the grains are used to prepare African food like TZ, porrage, African wine etc.
